When you own a Mazda CX-3, you have to do more than just enjoy driving around town in your fun, reliable, and versatile SUV. To make sure it keeps running smoothly, you must stay on top of the service schedule and this means knowing when to service your CX-3. You can find all of this information in your owner’s manual, but most drivers find it easier to look at it in one convenient article.

Choosing the Right 2016 Mazda CX-3 Service Schedule

The first thing to think about in terms of your CX-3 service schedule is which version you will need. There is a standard schedule for vehicles that don’t see severe use as well as a second schedule for those who operate in severe driving conditions. Follow the more frequent service schedule if you frequently short distances, at low speeds, or have long idling times. Follow this schedule if you use your brakes extensively or drive in areas with muddy or rough roads, dusty or mountainous conditions, and/or temperatures that are extremely hot, humid, or cold. Mazda suggests that most Canadian residents follow the shorter interval schedule due to the climate.

2016 Mazda CX-3 Service at 8,000 Kilometers

You will ideally want to take your 2016 Mazda CX-3 in for service every 4 months or 8,000 kilometers. Every time this interval passes, you should replace the engine oil and filter, inspect the coolant level, inspect the air filter, inspect all lights in your Mazda, inspect the tire wear and inflation pressure as well as the clutch and brake fluid level and washer fluid level. Also, lubricate the locks and hinges and rotate your tires.

12 and 24 Months

When your 2016 Mazda CX-3 is 12 months or has been driven 24,000 kilometers, you will want to inspect the disc brakes as well. Repeat this at 24 months or 48,000 kilometers. At this same time, you should also inspect the fuel hoses and lines, brake lines, brake hoses, brake connections, steering linkages and operation, ball joints, wheel bearing axial play, rear and front suspension, and driveshaft dust boots. Also, tighten the nuts and bolts on the body and chassis at this point. Remember to repeat these actions every 24 months or 48,000 kilometers.

Later Service

At 28 months or 56,000 kilometers, you should inspect the drive bolts, replace the air filter, and repeat all the other tasks for the appropriate intervals. Finally, at 48 months or 96,000 kilometers, you will need to inspect the tubes and hoses for emission. Each 5 years or 72,000 kilometers, you should inspect the heat shields and exhaust system. Replace your cabin air filter each 2 years or 40,000 kilometers.

You will need to replace the spark plugs every 120,000 kilometers. Remember to replace your engine coolant once your 2016 Mazda CX-3 reaches 10 years or 192,000 kilometers and repeat this process every 5 years or 96,000 kilometers after. If you use your Mazda CX-3 in extremely rough conditions, then replace your rear differential oil t intervals of 48,000 kilometers.
